To keep it short and simple.
For the time being, Antumbra 2 is officially on hold. But I am, officially "still alive" :D

The "On Hold" status is a direct result of the small popularity of the game. But also, if not mainly, due to IndieGoGo failure. At the moment - I cannot afford developing a game of this size. Sorry. Trust me - I am not a happy hippo neither.

Good news are:
Antumbra 2 being "On Hold" =/= "Canceled".
I still want to finish the game. I just have to wait till I'll manage to secure enough funding. And I actually already started. At the beginning of October 2015 (that's in 20 days) I will publish a new game. The game is something totally different and more "mainstream". The game is actually finished, I just have some serious problem with the Mobile platform. Because yes, the game will be played on Desktops(Win, Linux, Mac), Browsers(Chrome, FireFox, IE) and Mobiles (Android).

So yeah. That's that. Don't worry.
I might be an introvert sociopath - but I am not a quitter.
I neither have the luxury or mindset of one.
I just tend to vanish every now and then. ^_^

Someone left me a review. I've replied but the reply grew and became something bigger. Something very honest. Something I would like to share with the world. Both gamers and developers alike. I hope to inspire.

You know, any artist wants to produce stuff like that. But he also has to eat, has bills to pay, family to feed. And you know how the world is. Mainstream banks. Unique - do not. In many cases, a proper marketing and PR sells the product better then the content it was made out of. Its far easier to spend couple of days and make another Idle Game and make some quick cash, rather then pour your heart and soul into something for months. But the problem is - and this will be a confession - when this works on paper, it doesn't in field.
At least - not for me.

For years I've been struggling to create a game. Something that would put money on the table. And this rush and pressure - was like a poison, it was killing me from inside. I started something, then depression kicked in, I stopped, tried to make something else, failed again. Rise and repeat. Over and over. And suddenly - I discarded all that. I've opened my heart and made an interactive piece of art, out of what I've found inside of my ribcage. And it worked. Jesus it worked. And I've learned my lesson and came out wiser.

After Antumbra popularity - now I know that the only games I should make, are the game I love making. Developed without dollar bill in mind. Because to my utmost, but pleasant surprise - the world is looking for my passion. The world had enough. The people had enough. The world is changing. And when the change is subtle and hard to notice, its also steady and strong. The plastic construct is breaking and crumbling apart. People don't want yet another 5 minutes of entertainment. No. They want something bigger. Something meaningful. Something that will leave a mark. Something that echoes inside of them.

And now I am making something new. But made with the same love and care. A new beginning stands at the doorstep. I've finally managed to breach out of my cage. And I am not going back. I am here to stay.

Good afternoon!
So after hardening my butt yesterday I now got some extra motion. That Dev Vlog I did sure helped. Had to vent. And you guys delivered - as always. Your support and engagement is just... Indescribable. And I am a very lucky guy to have you guys.

So my plan partially worked out (rushing into ArtPortal/DeviantArt/AudioPortal/SoundCloud) and our circle grew a bit. And so had IndieGoGo and Greenlight. Of course we are far away from our target goal but yeah - nice to see some REAL progress again.

I would like to use this space to thank a wonderful user Exedor. Who personally scouted me yesterday for the Art Portal of Newgrounds. Enabling more people to see my work and maybe get involved. Thank you champ! You are like the Spider-man - always show up when situation is dire. Send some love-messages to him will ya? Please. I did it already. I want him to know how we are/I am grateful, and how much it means.

So today I've uploaded a lot of shinnies in many places. You can support those droppings the usual way - by commenting, rating, voting, faving and what not. But please, if feels like a chore to you - don't. I only want your support if you are willing to give it. This isn't army and I am not your commander. We are equal, we stand in the same line. No one's better the then other. We do it together or we don't do it at all.

But if you want to listen to them for REAL - skip the Audio Portal and just go straight to SoundCloud. Sadly, Newgrounds Audio Portal takes only MP3 music. Which is probably the worst possible audio format. In the other hand - SoundCloud also takes raw WAVs. And even for a deaf guy - the difference in quality is VERY VISIBLE. REALLY. I am not joking. Go ahead and compare. That's because the best possible MP3 compression has up to 320kb/s bitrate. When WAV being lossless format streams with the power of 1400kb/s and higher bitrate. Listening to my music in MP3 format is like playing newest Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in lowest possible resolution and everything set on LOW. Sure, its an option - but only fool will go with it, IF he has the choice. So just don't. You'll be ruining the experience for yourself.

As yesterday, the 9Gag post "Because knowledge is power!" Wouldn't mind some more UpVotes. Its working fairly well. Also the thread on Newgrounds, Kongregate and Gamejolt gotten kind a cold. I promise, I won't get angry would you help me make them hot and warm again :P

Last but not last - I hate doing such aggressive marketing/advertisement. I really do. Its not funny. It sucks. Blows. Its disgusting. But it has to be done. Because the time is our enemy. And we need to accomplish, in matter of days what other people work for, for years. Believe me, its not a choice. Its a "need". If I've made someone angry or disgusted by such practices - please forgive me. But the stake is high. And never in my entire life I've believed in something as much and as strong - as I do now. Please forgive me.

I want for A2 to succeed. But not just "yay 3 meals per day and paid bills!" kind of success. I want Antumbra 2 to hit HARD and STRONG. I want the game to go viral so I'll be able to wipe my ass with 100 dollar bills. And you know why...? Why I am so greedy and avaricious out of sudden?

Because I want to make Antumbra 3. But in 3D. With all the goodies. With Oculus Rift support. With high res graphics and sharp sounds. With all kinds of compatibility. With all the newest technologies. To create a world, within our world. To make the game huuuuge. As huge so it will take you months to finish just once. And then you will come back for more, and replay the game. And new content will get unlocked and the world will grow and extend every time you play.
And then I want to publish it on all platforms known to mankind.... For free. So everybody, regardless of their bank account balance, their material status, their religion, country, nation on gender - will be able to play it.

Hello guys. Something bad happened to Antumbra... Sorry, it won't be a short text. But bear with me please...
As some of you might know - on Kongregate games are being awarded monthly. 10 games can get in. Antumbra was nominated 8th. For which I am very grateful. But I've also learned about a very... Dirty tactics that are going on Kongregate every month.
Basically, each month when the Top10 awards are closing in - all developers downvote each other. To increase their chances by decreasing the chances of their competitors. And this also happened to Antumbra. Suddenly, the day before the awards, a huge mob of my "fellow" game developers, rushed in and attacked Antumbra.
All positive comments - DOWNvoted
All negative comments - UPvoted
All game Tags - DOWNvoted
Game - DOWNvoted.
Which made Antumbra fall from 3.9 rating down to 3.0 in matter of minutes. I have asked some of my GameDev friends and it appears this happening is quite normal on Kongeregate. Its usual. Like everybody does that. I was not aware of such thing to exist. At least - not in this spectrum. I find it disgusting.
And I am pretty sure that my friends are right. Because there is a pattern.
Every positive comment had -20 votes. Every negative comment  +20 votes, every game tag  -20votes. The number 20 was everywhere. And "surprisingly"  it all stopped, right after the winners had be announced.
I couldn't stop it. I could just sit and watch the destruction. But now I am trying to clean up this mess. So I am coming to you. Please, if you are a fan of my, or you just enjoyed playing Antumbra - please follow this link and UpVote each and every game tag. Of course as long as you are okey with it. I am not asking you to do something against your will. Just the tags. Broken TAGs kills the game visibility. I don't consider this cheating. More like "cleaning up after a hurricane". :(
